Yes AirDroid does give you some more security features as well as wireless file transferring, but that’s just not something I ever find I need. Admittedly I did not stick with Airdroid as much but I never found a need to really explore it further. Two years since I posted this and MightyText is still the winner. There is also a pro version coming soon for MightyText which adds more features such as themes, the ability to bulk message people, create message templates, and selectively sync MightyText with certain numbers They’ve also added the ability to text from Gmail as well as Facebook if you happen to have both of those. You can call from your computer through your phone which I find to be an incredible time saver. They’ve delved into the photo editing and syncing which is really great for those of us who love MMS. Recently MT opened up to allow all browsers, but in my experience it works great with Chrome. Just install the app on the phone and open their website up and you’re all set. MT lets you send and receive texts (including MMS) to your phone. They also added a premium account feature you can pay for which gives you more remote control (find my phone, remote wipe, turn your camera on, etc.) MightyText They created an Airdroid account which houses your devices information which is also great because having to re-connect all the time was very annoying. It’s also very responsive and gives you a nice desktop view of your phone in your web browser.Īirdroid updated to a version 2.0 which removed the on the same network restriction which was very problematic for me. You just have to be on the same wireless network and you have to pair your phone.ĪirDroid works great and I LOVE being able to push and pull files from the phone without having to go through a ton of steps. You can send files, interact with contacts and send text messages. In one corner we have AirDroid which gives you total control of your phone from any web browser. Fortunately Android offers some nice alternatives, but which one is the best one? I hate constantly having to switch between phone and work. By the time your phone is back where it was 2 more texts pop up. You break out of your work to pick up your phone, complain about autocorrect for 10 minutes, then hit send. You sit down at your desk to get started and you get a text. I posted this article a while ago and it seems to get a lot of traffic still so I figure I’d update it for 2014.
